Adrian Peterson jokes about how simple Patriots kept things on defense

Adrian Peterson just dropped one of the more interesting notes a player will ever say about his team.

The Washington Redskins running back noted after his team’s blowout loss to the New England Patriots that the defense they studied on film…didn’t really bother.

“They showed a lot of exotic stuff on film, but against us they didn’t really. It was like, hey sit back there and allow us to mess up,” Peterson said, according to ESPN’s John Keim.

That can’t feel great for anyone outside of the greater Foxboro area to hear coming from Washingont’s starting back.

Peterson finished the day with seven carries for 18 yards. His quarterback, Colt McCoy, managed just 119 yards with an interception.

As a whole, Washington put up 220 yards of offense and converted one third down attempt on 11 tries.

New England, clearly, didn’t see a reason to get complicated with its approach.
