Adrian Peterson is going to play forever

If you thought Adrian Peterson’s career was over when the Vikings decided to not bring him back after the 2016 season, do we have some news for you.

You were wrong.

Peterson ran for 1,042 yards last year with the Redskins. He’ll return to the Redskins on a two-year, $8 million deal. Peterson is 33 years old and will be 34 when next season starts.

Peterson is an athletic freak and he’s set to climb the record books if he can remain healthy and relevant in Washington’s offense.

Peterson’s 13,318 career rushing yards rank eighth all time. He’s just 344 yards behind Jerome Bettis for seventh and 366 behind LaDainian Tomlinson for sixth.

As far as rushing touchdowns are concerned, Peterson’s 106 are tied for fifth all time with Jim Brown. He needs five to pass Walter Payton to move to fourth.

All players ahead of Peterson on both lists are in the Hall of Fame with the exception of Frank Gore, who is somehow still playing at age 35. He’ll suit up for the Buffalo Bills next season.
