Adrian Peterson is excited for a matchup against Frank Gore

Legends collide Sunday when the Washington Redskins and Buffalo Bills get together.

There, running backs Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore will go head-to-head and it sure sounds like a day Peterson has had circled on his calendar for a long time.

“Even now, I enjoy watching him and seeing that he’s being successful,” Peterson said, according to Redskins.com’s Zach Selby. “It’s always a motivation to know I have another comrade two years older than me that’s still getting it done.”

Go figure both guys are in the middle of strong seasons again. Gore has 422 yards and two scores on a 4.4 per-carry average for the five-win Bills.

Peterson’s position hasn’t been as cushy on a one-win team but he’s done what he could since getting back into the picture after a coaching change. He has 383 yards and one score on a 3.9 average.

Together, both are in the top-10 all-time in rushing yards with each boasting 13,000-plus yards. And no, it wouldn’t be surprising to see one of them play a big role in how the game plays out.
