Adrian Peterson hopes to win more Redskins awards after this season

Adrian Peterson was an unexpected surprise for the Washington Redskins in 2018, to the point he just won the team’s best offensive player award.

And during his acceptance speech, Peterson made one thing clear — he wants to win it again next year.

ESPN’s John Keim captured the crucial line from the speech: “God willing I’ll accept this award next year.”

At this point, nobody should put it past Peterson, who showed up late last year and still rattled off 1,000-plus yards and was the centerpiece of the offense.

But the task does seem more difficult in 2019. Trent Williams might not be there to make running easier and he might have to cough up some of the attempts to upstart Derrius Guice.

But again, one year ago, was anybody thinking Peterson of all players would be reeling in individual honors after a strong season in 2018?
