Adrian Peterson has zero idea what Trent Williams plans to do

Let’s first start this post by making it clear that Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson really isn’t saying anything about left tackle Trent Williams and his holdout — he’s just talking.

On Tuesday morning, ESPN’s Josina Anderson tweeted that she talked with Peterson about Williams, and tried to get a feel for what his perspective was on the holdout and whether or not he believed Williams would come back, especially if he’d already made up his mind.

Peterson, nearing an expert level of sitting on the fence, answers by saying he could very easily see his teammate returning to the Redskins facility, but he could also see him moving on.

Peterson was very vocal about the holdout earlier in the off-season, saying that he stood with his teammate and wished him well while hoping he returned to the team eventually. On Tuesday he remains committed but is uncertain about Williams’ return.

The Redskins made it apparent on Monday that they would not be trading Williams, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, though they had received numerous calls from other teams.

At this point, we can get annoyed at Peterson for being so up in the air about the situation, but the truth is, he is just as in the dark as all of us. The players in the Washington locker room have no idea what Williams will do, but they sure hope to see him again soon.
