Adrian Peterson had one of the best 3-year stretches in PFF history

Pro Football Focus has been grading players for 13 seasons now.

Earlier this week, the site put together the best three-year stretch from players at each position during their time of grading players.

Adrian Peterson’s stretch with the Vikings from 2010-12 took the honors for running backs.

Here’s what PFF wrote about AP:

A reign that ended in MVP honors in 2012, Adrian Peterson’s three-year stretch as a runner from 2010-12 is unlikely to ever be seen again. He earned overall grades of 86.5, 83.7 and 92.4 in 2010, 2011 and 2012, respectively, and he led the league in yards after contact (2580) and yards after contact per attempt (3.4) over that span.

In that three-year stretch, Peterson ran for 4,365 yards (1,455 average per season) and 36 touchdowns while averaging 101 yards per game. That’s simply amazing. Unfortunately for the Vikings, this was the end of the Brett Favre era and the start of the Christian Ponder era.

Adrian Peterson WAS the Vikings offense during that time.
