Adrian Peterson continues to climb record books

Adrian Peterson continues to climb the leaderboard among some of the best players in NFL history.

By running for a 10-yard touchdown in the third quarter on Sunday against the Eagles, Peterson tied Walter Payton’s mark of 110 rushing touchdowns for fourth all-time in NFL history.

This looks like the Peterson Vikings fans grew accustomed to in Minnesota.

Peterson also passed Curtis Martin for fifth all-time on the NFL’s rushing list with a career total 14,202 yards.

Peterson still has two more games left this season and at age 34, the odds shouldn’t be in his favor, but we’ve seen crazier things from Peterson.

Peterson needs 1,167 yards to pass Barry Sanders for fourth on the rushing list. That seems improbable, but again, Adrian Peterson is not a normal human being.

Peterson is under contract with the Redskins next season. Even if he is a cap casualty (which seems unlikely with Derrius Guice’s injury history), he should be able to hook on with another team. Peterson is averaging 4.3 yards per carry this season.
