Adrian Peterson again stresses he wants to retire with Vikings

Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson has never been shy about his desire to retire as a member of the Minnesota Vikings.

He confirmed this once again recently while hosting a football camp in the area, according to Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

“This is where I started; this is where it’s going to come to an end, as well. People ask me all the time, and they keep throwing me off, like, ‘Where would I retire? A Saint, a Cardinal or a Redskin?’ It’s like, ‘No, I’m going to retire a Viking.’ I was here a decade — some great memories, some everlasting friends. I’m just forever indebted to the state of Minnesota. I’ll definitely be retiring a Viking, for sure.”

Peterson ran for nearly 12,000 yards with the Vikings before his tenure there came to an end.

Even so, Peterson has some unfinished business with the Redskins before he can really get around to the usual one-day deal in Minnesota when he retires. He shocked most by running for 1,000-plus yards last year as the centerpiece of the offense while injuries barraged the depth chart.

Based on last year, it still might be quite a while before he gets back in a purple jersey and hangs up the cleats.
