Adrian Mariappa, Jose Holebas and Heurelho Gomes agree Watford contract extensions until end of season

Watford trio Adrian Mariappa, Jose Holebas and Heurelho Gomes have all agreed contract extensions to cover the delayed finish to the 2019/20 season.

The three players were all due to be out of contract in the summer and as such would become free agents on July 1.

The Premier League season, however, is due to run until July now after the outbreak of coronavirus and suspension of football in England.

As a result, clubs need to reach Fifa-approved contract extensions with players to cover the delayed finish to the 2019/20 campaign.

Watford have done just that with Gomes, Holebas and Mariappa and they will help the Hornets' push to stay in the Premier League.

The trio also remain in talks with the club about their long-term futures and could yet sign new, long-term deals.

Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has already signed a new two-year deal to keep him at the club.
