Adrian 'Lionheart' McCallum: Mourners pay tribute to Scots wrestling champion after funeral

Friends, family and fans of tragic Scots wrestlers Adrian 'Lionheart' McCallum turned out for his funeral yesterday.

The 36-year-old took his own life in June just months after attempting to save his neighbour who died in a fatal fire.

Some mourners attending the service wore pink clothes in honour of the Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) star.

Famous faces in the Scottish wrestling community also paid their respects at the service.

ICW firm boss Mark Dallas posted an image on social media after the funeral of Lionheart's pals, Grado, Jack Jester and Sha Samuels.

While Burnistoun actor Robert Florence took to Twitter to pay tribute to the wrestler.

He said: "Your friends will carry your memory on to greater and greater heights.

"The Golden Generation Of British Wrestling will always carry with it the name 'Lionheart'. Never to be forgotten. Rest easy, big pal."

Following the death of the star, who owned Ayrshire-based Pro Wrestling Elite and coached at Glasgow Pro Wrestling Asylum, WWE megastars The Rock and Chris Jericho paid tribute.

The Rock said: "So sorry to hear the news of Adrian McCallum’s passing. He was a big wrestling star in the UK. Loved and respected.

"Never had the opportunity to shake this man’s hand but sending his family, friends & UK wrestling community love, support & strength."
