Adrian Lam rubbishes transfer rumours about his own son after Leigh Centurions link

It would appear that Lachlan Lam will not be moving to Leigh Centurions after all.

Reports have spread across the globe in recent days that the halfback will make his way across to the UK to link up with dad Adrian, who has joined the Leythers as their head coach for the 2022 season.

However, the Centurions chief has come out to slam those reports and branded the claims as nothing more than fake news.

Taking to his own Instagram page, Lam poured cold water over the reports, saying: "No truth in this story whatsoever. I have never spoken to Lachlan about coming to the UK. Lachlan loves the Roosters club and he is contracted there for the 2022 season!

"End of story!"

Not that Leigh fans should be too disappointed. The Centurions have already made a number of high-profile overseas signings in the shape of Tom Amone, Caleb Aekins and Nene MacDonald as they look to secure an instant return to the top flight in 2023.

Further signings are expected in the coming weeks as head of rugby Chris Chester continues to assemble a squad to compete at the top of the Championship next year.

They'll be up against the likes of Featherstone Rovers, who have added NRL quality of their own in Joey Leilua among a raft of other signings as they look to put two Million Pound Game defeats behind them under Brian McDermott.
