Wigan Warriors could welcome back as many as six first-team players for Friday night's game with Wakefield Trinity as Adrian Lam revealed they remain clear of any Covid-19 issues.
The Warriors will aim to take a step closer to solidifying their place in the Super League play-offs with victory against Chris Chester's side this weekend, and they are boosted by the return of a number of frontline players.
Suspended trio Jackson Hastings, Ethan Havard and Willie Isa will all return, while Sam Powell, Joe Bullock and Liam Byrne are also among consideration once again.
"Sam failed a HIA last week, and Joe Bullock missed the game with flu symptoms," Lam said. "Liam Byrne has had a rib cartilage problem, but those last two guys, we'll give them up until kick-off to consider them. There's all those guys back in consideration."
Lam also revealed there are no positive Covid-19 tests among Wigan's playing group this week - but expressed his concern that the issue remains across Super League.
"We're clear to play, as we have done every other week of the competition," he said.
"We've been very well organised and professional in regards to protocol at the club. It's unfortunate other clubs are finding difficulties and no doubt it's getting closer to our club.
"It's a concern and I think I saw that one club had played four fewer games than us. That's the concern for the competition but with everyone going on, we're staying positive and doing a good job."
Hastings' return provides Lam with a welcome selection headache. The Australian had been playing at fullback before his suspension, but Umyla Hanley could remain there this week after deputising against Huddersfield, allowing Hastings to return to his preferred role of half-back.
But Lam was coy on what he may do, saying: "That's the dilemma we've got to deal with at the moment. I made it clear the other week that every time Umyla comes back into the team, he's improved as a player. A decision needs to be made on captain's run."
