Joe Shorrocks will start at hooker in the derby in a bold move by Adrian Lam.
The forward will deputise for Sam Powell, who misses the game after failing a HIA against Hull Kingston Rovers last week.
Shorrocks has been preferred over Amir Bourouh, the Salford-bound hooker who starts on the bench, and Brad O'Neill, who doesn't feature whatsoever.
Elsewhere, Jai Field doesn't make the matchday squad, with Zak Hardaker preferred at fullback. John Bateman remains on the bench, with Morgan Smithies given the nod to start at back-row.
St Helens, who are without the suspended Tommy Makinson, move Kevin Naiqama to the wing, with Jack Welsby selected at centre.
