Adrian desperate for first Liverpool clean sheet and makes Burnley admission

Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian is keen to secure his first clean sheet at the club.

The Spainard was thrust into action when Reds No.1 Alisson Becker limped out of the Premier League opener against Norwich City three weeks ago with a calf problem.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted Alisson's injury is still set to "take some time" to heal, so Adrian will again be between the sticks as Liverpool look to extend their 100% start to the top-flight season at Burnley on Saturday evening .

The Reds are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, conceding one goal in every Premier League game so far, but Adrian is aiming to shut out the Clarets and knows just how important that is to do while also admitting his side a preparing for a "different kind of game".

“A clean sheet for the ‘keeper and the defenders means a lot,” he told the club's official website.

“Obviously we want to win the three points, that’s the most important [thing]. But the second-most important thing is to keep a clean sheet. We didn’t get it at the moment.

“We are improving game by game. The last game against Arsenal we did really well, we played 70 to 75 minutes at great intensity so Arsenal didn’t have any chance to win the game.

“We go to a different kind of game at Burnley’s pitch; a different size and a different style of play of them. But we are preparing well for the game and we go there to get three points – and hopefully to get the first clean sheet.”
