Adrian Bernabe has confirmed he will leave Manchester City this summer following the expiration of his contract.
Bernabe joined City in the summer of 2018 on a free transfer after coming through the ranks at Barcelona's famed La Masia academy.
The creative-midfielder was highly rated at the club and made his debut shortly after arriving as a late substitute in a 3-0 Carabao Cup victory over Oxford United.
Bernabe would get further opportunities in the competition the following season and made three substitute appearances while continuing to impress at youth level.
The 20-year-old made his first and only start for the club this past season in the League Cup against Bournemouth, but he sadly had to be stretchered off the pitch due to injury after just 36 minutes.
He would go on to appear on the bench in Premier League matches during the campaign but never played another game for Pep Guardiola's side.
With his contract expired, Bernade has now decided to pursue his career elsewhere and penned an emotional goodbye message to the club.
"It's time to put an end to one of the most beautiful stages I've had the chance to live," he wrote on Instagram.
"Manchester has been home to me for the last three years and I will always be grateful for everything you have given me as a person and as a footballer.
"I would like to thank everyone who has helped me in this path. Especially my teammates which I have learnt a lot from, and all the employees that have helped and guided me in the best possible way.
"Thank you all. I'll be a Citizen forever."
