March 15--The NFLPA released performance based pay results from the 2015 season on Monday.
Rookie safety Adrian Amos earned the most in PBP on the Chicago Bears, collecting an additional $282,158. The NFL began distributing a pool of money for performance-based pay in 2002 as a means to reward players who earned a lot of playing time and had smaller pay checks. Veterans making a lot of money still get a piece of the pie, but the formula favors those earning less money and playing a high number of snaps. For instance, quarterback Jay Cutler, the team's highest-paid player last season, earned $6,780.
A pool of $3,802,500 is distributed to each club.
