Adrian Amos: ‘I want to be back in Chicago’

One of the biggest decisions facing the Chicago Bears in free agency is what to do with safety Adrian Amos, who’s set to hit the open market on March 13.

Amos, who joined the Bears as a fifth-round pick in 2015, has been one of Chicago’s best defenders over the last two years. Now, he’s set to cash-in.

Amos joined Sirius XM’s Opening Drive Tuesday and said he wants to re-sign with the Bears.

“I want to be back in Chicago. Chicago has been talking back and forth, they want me back,” Amos said. “But we’ll see how things shake out. Nothing is certain right now. It’s still a little early. Over the next couple weeks, I guess we’ll find out a lot more.”

It sounds like Amos’ camp is having productive conversations with the Bears and this could be a deal that’s struck on the eve of free agency. If Chicago allows Amos to test the free-agent market, the odds of him returning drop significantly.
