Adorable video shows pomsky and savannah cat who've become unlikely friends

Most households wouldn’t let their dog within barking distance of an exotic cat but this pair appear to be closer than your average house pets.

In this case the feisty Pomeranian-husky mix, or pomsky, doesn’t seem like the right companion for an enormous house cat.

But five-year-old Louis the dog has become very close friends with Stryker.

Stryker is a rescued savannah cat which is a cross between a domestic cat and a serval.

The two have been close friends since they first met about a year ago, according to Louis’s owner Rinat Alelov who is based in Miami, Florida.

Stryker belongs to one of Alelov's friends.

Alelov posted the video to her Instagram page of the two playing in Miami, Florida and commented, “#secretlybffs.”

The footage shows the two animals face to face with each other, with Stryker retreating in the face of Louis’s bluster before the pomsky triumphantly walks away.

Stryker eventually backs up against a wall and remains still, as Louis struts around the room kicking his little rear legs.

According to the American Kennel Club, this behaviour is known as “symbolically marking the territory.”

But their owners don't see it as an act of aggression.

They have described their play time as a game of “cat and mouse.”
