For a team like the Toronto Raptors with championship aspirations, the NBA’s restart within the bubble at Orlando’s Walt Disney World meant that they could be spending nearly four months away from their families and friends.
So, ahead of the second round, the NBA allowed for the advancing teams to bring family members into the bubble after a quarantine period. For someone like the Raptors’ Fred VanVleet, it meant an opportunity to see his family for the first time since June.
And, thankfully, that reunion was caught on video because it was one of the best things we’ll see from the NBA bubble.

VanVleet’s girlfriend, Shontai Neal, posted a video to her Instagram on Monday of their children, 2-year-old daughter Sanaa and 1-year-old Fred Jr., reuniting with VanVleet at the Raptors’ hotel.
We could hear as Sanaa yelled “daddy!” while running towards VanVleet and giving the Raptors guard a huge hug. What a moment. Seriously, so great.
VanVleet said that he had not seen his family since Father’s Day.
