Katherine Jenkins has opened up about the utterly adorable reason she chose to dress up as an octopus on The Masked Singer.
The 39-year-old opera singer, who is mum to Aaliyah and Xander with partner Andrew Levitas, came third in the quirky singing competition earlier this month to Jason Manford and Nicola Roberts.
Appearing on Lorraine today, Katherine said that she had designed her costume with daughter Aaliyah in mind.
She said: "When they approached me about it and told me about the premise of the show - I've got a four year old at home, Aaliyah, and I thought, it's quite hard for her to understand what I do because classical music is quite serious some times.

"So she loves Blue Planet, she loves pink and purple things so I thought, you know what, I'll make this thing for her."
Lorraine exclaimed: "So the octopus was perfect for her!"
"Some of the songs I'd chosen were things I knew she'd love," Katherine continued.
Asked whether her daughter knew the octopus was her, she said: "I couldn't tell her, obviously, when it was being filmed or when it was on.

"But she did come out of school when it was on the other day and said, 'Mummy, are you the octopus?! Miss Sandra at school says you're the octopus.'"
Katherine also spoke about how her daughter reacted when she was confirmed as the octopus on TV.
She said: "She hugged me afterwards and said, 'Well done mummy'."
So sweet!
