Adorable puppy working for Scots cops sends social media into meltdown

Animal lovers are gushing over Police Scotland's newest recruit.

Tayside Police shared adorable snaps of the latest addition to their pack of dogs.

, Stig, joined the force this week and has melted the hearts of Scots across the country.

Officers shared pictures of the lovable brown haired pup on Monday.

In just a couple of hours, the post has amassed 2,000 likes and more than 50 shares while followers commented in their droves.

One posted: "Stig is a stunning handsome boy.

"Good luck on your quests."

Another wrote: "What a beauty.

"I'm sure he'll make a great police dog.

"Good luck Stig, stay safe."

A third added: "What a gorgeous lad.

"I’m sure he’ll do a great job."

Last week how animal-loving Scot, James Barton launched a campaign to find forever homes for seven adorable puppies he found abandoned by the side of a road in Saudi Arabia.

The electrician came across the young dogs without their mum while working at a site in Riyadh around two weeks ago.

The 29-year-old immediately fell in love with the pups and knew he needed to get them off the streets.

It is unclear exactly what their breed is, but James says strays in the country are normally known as 'desert dogs'.

With Save the Saudi Seven, James hopes to bring Cathy, Betty, Smeego, Kobe, Hassan, Hamish and Calton (named after James' home town) back to Scotland.
