Adorable photos show a flock of chickens gazing into their owner's home as if they want to come in from the snow.

The trio of birds clambered onto the window sill on Thursday to look inside and appeared to want to avoid their feet touching the frosty floor.

Their owner, sharing the images from Manchester, wrote on Twitter: “Our chickens have never experienced snow before, and are making it abundantly clear that they are absolutely furious about the situation.”

The images have attracted similar poultry anecdotes on Twitter, with other birds seeming to be similarly adverse to the cold weather.

The trio peered into their owner's home (@JBwol)

One wrote: “Ours won’t leave their house today - Beast from the East saw them huddled in together there for six days.”

Another said: “Ours won’t come out in the morning at the moment!”

The pictures were shared amid a cold snap hitting Britain with temperatures of -4C expected in some places in coming days.

Recent days have seen some services grind to a halt with more travel issues expected.

Some schools even had to close their doors in Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Liverpool.
