Adorable photo of baby Archie shared by Meghan Markle on US Mother's Day

Meghan Markle has shared an adorable photo of her newborn baby's feet to celebrate Mother's Day in the US.

The Duchess of Sussex  posted the picture to Instagram on Sunday, May 12.

It shows the Duchess's hand cradling the tiny bare feet of baby Archie, who was born six days ago.

It is thought the photo was taken at Frogmore Cottage, the Sussex’s Windsor home in the grounds of Windsor Castle, according to the Mirror.

And fittingly, Princess Diana's favourite flower - forget me nots - can be seen in the background.

The 37-year-old also took the time to pay a tribute to mothers across the word.

"Paying tribute to all mothers today - past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered," the royal wrote.

"We honor and celebrate each and every one of you.

"Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe."

Meghan went on to quote from Nayyirah Waheed's poem 'Lands': "My mother was my first country, the first place I ever lived."

The Duchess has two reasons to celebrate.

Not only is she spending her first mother's day with Baby Sussex, her mum Doria Ragland is by her daughter's side.

When Archie was introduced to the world Meghan confirmed her mum was playing a huge part in the process.

Shortly after Meghan and Harry's first post-birth interview, Doria was on hand to help introduce the baby to his great-grandmother the Queen.

The Duchess described her son as having the "sweetest temperament", while a delighted Duke called him "our own little bundle of joy".
