Adorable new photo of Archie's christening to celebrate dad Harry's 35th

An adorable new photo of Archie's christening has been released by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Harry's 35th birthday.

The couple were criticised by some royal commentators for keeping the July christening of their baby son private.

No photographers were allowed in the Private Chapel of Windsor Castle for the ceremony where Archie was baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Initially just two photos of the special day were released by the Duke and Duchess.

One showed the couple surrounded by friends and family. Another, in black and white, was a more intimate snap of Meghan, Harry and Archie.

But today a third was published - as part of a collage dedicated to Prince Harry on his 34th birthday.

On the SussexRoyal Instagram page Meghan wrote: “Your service to the causes you care so deeply for inspires me every day.

"You are the best husband and most amazing dad to our son. We love you. Happiest birthday!”

And eagle-eyed royal fans soon noticed the black and white photo in the bottom right is another glimpse into the christening.

It shows Harry  crouched down to look at Archie, being held in his mum's lap as she sits down.

Meghan's face looks the picture of happiness as she gazes at her son.

Meghan and Harry have kept Archie away from the spotlight since his birth and are reportedly keen to give him a normal upbringing.

However recently the Duke gave a rare update on how his baby son is doing.

While at a royal engagement at Lealands High School Harry was asked by one of the children: "Prince Harry, how is everything going with Archie?"

The proud dad responded: "He is really well, thanks, and he's getting so big."

The Prince was visiting Lealands to see the Rugby Football Union (RFU) All Schools programme in action, an initiative designed to encourage children to take up the sport.
