Adorable moment Welsh rugby star is reunited with his little girl after more than three weeks apart

Footage has been shared of the adorable moment a Cardiff Rugby star was reunited with his two-year-old daughter after more than three weeks of being stuck in South Africa and Covid quarantine.

Corey Domachowski, and the majority of the squad who travelled to South Africa in November to play away matches, spent more than three weeks apart from his family due to the emergence of the new Omicron variant.

Missing the deadline to return to the UK before having to isolate for 10 days in a government-approved facility, Cardiff Rugby's players and staff only arrived home to their loved ones on Tuesday.

Footage shared on social media shows the prop Domachowski surprising his two-year-old daughter Mia Rose at home upon his return after 22 days.

Having apparently not long been woken up, Mia is helped down the stairs by her mum Grace before the little girl spots her dad's suitcase - which she appears to call his lunchbox. As she walks towards it, out-of-sight dad Corey can be heard saying "hello", before the child runs towards him and shouts "daddy!" as she is scooped up into his arms for some much-needed cwtches.

Clearly over the moon to have him home, Mia says: "It's daddy, it's my daddy!"

Cardiff had departed for the Rainbow Nation on November 22 for United Rugby Championship matches, but focus soon turned to trying to return home when South Africa was put on the UK Government's red travel list due to Omicron.

Flying home took four attempts due to a combination of positive Covid test results among the travelling party and landing permission being withdrawn. But Cardiff - minus six personnel who tested positive for Covid - eventually made it back to Dublin earlier this month before a connecting flight to London, from where they travelled to Crawley to complete 10 days' quarantine in a hotel.

Six personnel who travelled back to the UK separate to the larger group are undergoing their 10-day quarantine, too, after completing the same requirements in South Africa.
