Adorable Leeds girl stars in Down Syndrome video following 500 million viral hit

A six-year-old girl from Leeds is one of the stars of a global campaign which aims to change people's perceptions of youngsters with Down Syndrome.

Connie Seabourne, from Morley, first starred in the 'Wouldn't Change A Thing' campaign in 2018. The carpool karaoke style video was one of the most popular not-for-profit viral videos of all time.

It saw Connie and 50 other children with Down Syndrome lip syncing Christina Perry's hit single, A Thousand Years, alongside their parents and went on the achieve more than 500 million views online.

Another video is being released this year to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. This time, the campaign is centred around the theme 'What Do You See?'.

Connie is one of the stars of the campaign once more and she features alongside her dad, 49-year-old Peter Seabourne, throughout.

The 2020 campaign sees dozens of families starring in the video, with the Bruno Mars hit, 'Just The Way You Are', as the soundtrack.

Connie's mum, Julie, said: "I'm so proud that Connie and her dad have been part of this year's amazing awareness campaign.

"We really wanted to challenge the viewers by asking the question: 'What do you see, when you look at me?'

"It really makes you think. It certainly made us think what do we see when we look at Connie?

"I see a daughter, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin, a friend, love, happiness, mischief, pride - the list is endless.

"Most of all I just see Connie."
