With many of us returning to work in offices, it can be particularly tough for dogs who have become used to having their owners around the house.
But one owner has found the perfect solution for her pups, as shown in a heart-melting TikTok video of a golden retriever’s first day at dog day care.
The clip posted by @thegoodboyarchie follows adorable puppy Ivy on her big day.
In the dog equivalent of her first day at school, Ivy even brings her own packed lunch - a bag of kibble with her name on it.
“I hope they like me,” the video caption reads as Ivy arrives at the care facility, Pampered Pets in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with her big brother Archie leading the way to the front door.
Ivy seems uncertain about her destination at first - she scratches at the door as her owner leaves, before cuddling into fellow golden retriever Archie for comfort.
But the confident pup soon leaves all her worries behind, as the next clip shows her lying sprawled out on her back in the middle of the yard as the other dogs sniff around her.
“This is so much fun!” the video caption reads as the pup bounds around the yard, enjoying playtime with her new friends and even having a dip in a paddling pool.
Her owner comes to pick her up at the end of the day and Ivy is then shown fast asleep when she gets home, worn out from her big adventure.
The precious pup’s first day has more than two million views on TikTok, with many people commenting on Ivy’s popularity at the daycare.
“Ivy AKA Marilyn Monroe,” one person said. “She had all the dogs flocking to her.”
“Ivy is obviously the main character,” another added.
Others praised the idea of a care facility that caters specially to dogs. “Dog daycare is genius,” one TikTok user said.
“We do have to work. Better than leaving them alone all day.”
But for pups at home, there are ways to keep themselves entertained - like this golden retriever who can’t tear his eyes away from The Lion King.
