Adorable Edinburgh Zoo baby armadillo named after Hollywood icon Pedro Pascal

A little male large hairy armadillo recently born at Edinburgh Zoo has adorably been named Pedro Pascal after the Last of Us and Mandalorian.

Tiny five-week-old pup Pedro and his twin, named Montezuma after the Aztec emperor, were recently inspected by expert vets at the wildlife conservation charity who confirmed their sexes at their first routine health check, where they were also weighed for the first time.

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) confirmed the two boys were also given their unique names by keepers at the zoo.

At just five weeks old, the pups are still dependent on their mum and are spending much of their time in the burrow.

Visitors are likely to spot them exploring their enclosure and learning more about their surroundings in the coming weeks as they grow more confident.
