Adorable cubs get lesson on crossing road

A momma black bear in Cades Cove of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee experienced a teachable moment for her four cubs earlier this month.

Photographer Faye Sykes of Entering Cades Cove captured the precious moment two of the cubs screamed out for help in video posted Monday by ViralHog.

The first cub in the video followed its mother’s tracks across the rain-covered road pretty easily, but the second seemed to be having more difficulty. Two had already crossed safely.

Eventually they all gathered together and wandered off.

“This amazing momma encourages her small spring cubs to cross the road,” Sykes wrote in the video description, before issuing a warning: “Slow down and pay attention when driving.”
