Adorable baby Highland cows born at Pollok Park as council release heart-melting video

Have you herd? Two new baby Highland coos have just arrived at Glasgow's Pollok Park.

Glasgow City COOncil have announced the news of the two newborn calves on their Twitter page... And they're udderly adorable.

The first bull calf from newly leased Royal bull Prionaan Dubh the 3rd from Balmoral was born in the southside park last weekend.

Sharing a video, the council said: "Happy Coosday @VisitScotland. We want to milk some exciting news we have to share.

"Last weekend the first bull calf from our newly leased bull Prionaan Dubh the 3rd from Balmoral was born at Pollok Park."

Then at noon, they shared a snap of another baby calf, born this morning. A wee bit wet behind the ears, needless to say, but still cute as a button.

There's a fold of around 50 Highland cattle to visit all year round at Glasgow's largest park.

According to Glasgow Life, Highland cattle have lived at the park for over 180 years, after being brought there in the early 19th century by the Maxwell family, who owned Pollok Estate and lived in Pollok House.

Highland cows reach full maturity at around four years old. Females grow to about 135cm from hoof to shoulder and weigh about 500kg; males to about 160cm and can weigh up to 900kg.

You might be able to catch the new coo if you hoof it to the southside park in the coming months – hopefully they'll be moo-ving out the fold when the weather brightens up.
