Adorable babies of NHS nurses form 'rainbow of hope' in tribute to frontline staff

Somewhere over this rainbow of seven babies born amid a deadly pandemic lies hope for a better future.

And what makes their colours shine even more brightly is that their mums are NHS angels at the same hospital.

All were born, one a month, in the dark days from March to September as Covid-19 went on its rampage through Britain.

And the proud nurses decided to pose with their tots in colourful handmade scrubs to form a “rainbow of hope” in tribute to frontline colleagues at Burnley General in Lancashire.

Theatre nurse Rebecca Hosfield, 35, was first to give birth, to Theodore on March 11.

Then came Catherine Ridgway, 35 (Esher, April), Sarah Yankowski, 33 (Phoebe, May), Stacey Nelson, 36 (Rory, June), Jessica Milligan, 27 (Margot, July), Kirstie Clare, 31 (Nancy, August) and Leah Helliwell, 30 (Luke, September).

Rebecca said: “We all work together as theatre practitioners.

“The rainbow is for our amazing colleagues.

"There are no words to thank them enough for what they’ve done and continue to do.”
