Adnan Januzaj tells Manchester United fans what Paul Pogba is likely to do this summer

Adnan Januzaj expects 'close friend' Paul Pogba to stay at Manchester United beyond this summer amid ongoing uncertainty regarding his future at the club.

Pogba is yet to play competitive football this year following a long injury lay-off but is in contention to start his first match since last September when United face Tottenham next week.

The French midfielder has long been linked with an exit from United at the end of the season and Pogba himself admitted last year that he was looking for a 'new challenge' in his career.

MEN Sport understands United have no intention of selling their star midfielder this summer and there is uncertainty over whether or not any side would actually be able to afford his transfer fee due to the the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.

Former United winger Januzaj struck up a close friendship with Pogba during their time in the academy together and the Belgium international has claimed his close friend is set to stay at Old Trafford.

“I think Paul is staying," Januzaj told Het Nieuwsblad. "I am still very, very close with Paul. We have known each other since we were kids, when we both played in the United youth teams.

“Our families are also close friends and we keep in contact. That will never change.”

Pogba's contract at United is due to expire next year but the club has the option to trigger a one-year extenstion to the Frenchman's deal. MEN Sport understands United are relaxed over Pogba's future at the club.
