Adnan Januzaj names Manchester United midfielder as his favourite player

Manchester United academy graduate Adnan Januzaj has revealed Paul Pogba is his favourite player having played alongside the Frenchman during his time in the club's youth system.

Januzaj and Pogba played together for United's Under-23s during the 2011-12 season before Pogba left Old Trafford to join Juventus in the summer of 2012.

The pair never featured alongside each other in a first-team game, with Januzaj making his debut in September 2013 - more than a year after Pogba's move to Turin.

However, he has fond memories of playing with Pogba and said he regards him as his favourite player.

"For me the best player [in the world] is Cristiano Ronaldo, but my favourite is [Paul] Pogba, because I grew up playing with him," Januzaj told Marca.

Much was expected of Januzaj at United after his impressive breakthrough season under David Moyes but he struggled for form following Louis van Gaal's appointment and was later sold to Real Sociedad by Jose Mourinho.

Januzaj is still at Sociedad but remains a big supporter of his old club.

"Manchester United is my second team after Real," Januzaj said.
