This half-baked, rather unpleasant romantic comedy stars Tina Fey as a member of Princeton University's undergraduate recruitment team who's more or less blackmailed into conniving with a pushy, idealistic high school teacher (Paul Rudd) to get an eccentric protege of his with a poor academic record into her prestigious school. Virtually everyone connected with Princeton is obnoxious – snobbish, smug, self-seeking – ranging from Fey's British lover (Michael Sheen, who, as the head of the university's English department, adds another self-righteous poseur to his personal gallery of creeps) to a group of student glee club singers one would like to see strangled. Princeton must have thought this film could help its reputation. It's more likely to increase applications to Yale, Harvard and MIT.
