Adler Planetarium announces ‘free days’ for February

Illinois residents looking for something to do on President’s Day and other weekdays in February will be able to take advantage of a ‘free day’ at the Adler Planetarium. | PR NEWSWIRE

Illinois residents looking for something to do on President’s Day and other weekdays in February will be able to take advantage of a ‘free day’ at the Adler Planetarium.

The Adler is offering free admission on select weekdays in February, the planetarium announced Friday. That includes President’s Day, Feb. 17, when the planetarium will also offer a guest blogger panel, “Chicago’s Black Women in STEAM [Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math],” to continue Black History/Future Month celebrations. That day, guest bloggers will participate in two moderated panels, sharing insights about what it means to be a woman of color in STEAM, according to a news release from the planetarium. The panels will take place at the Johnson Family Star Theater at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Other free days in February are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday-Thursday, Feb. 4-6
  • Tuesday-Thursday, Feb. 11-13
  • Tuesday-Thursday, Feb. 18-20

Free admission includes general admission exhibits, but Illinois residents can also upgrade to get access to the “Atwood Sphere” experience and any two sky shows at a discounted price.
