Aditya Thackeray bats for Maharashtra style of governing state

PANAJI: It is unfortunate that Goa still has areas where there is insufficient water and power supply, Shiv Sena’s Aditya Thackeray said on Saturday in Panaji. He said Goa needs governance like that led by Shiv Sena in Maharashtra.

“In Maharashtra, we are preserving the environment while we carry out development. There must be no other such example across the country as is being set by Shiv Sena and the Maha Vikas Agadi. We want to carry out work the same way in Goa,” said Thackeray, a minister in the Maharashtra cabinet.

He also said that irrespective of the 2022 assembly election results, Shiv Sena will continue to contest polls in Goa at all levels, right from panchayat to assembly, to bring a difference in the state.

Averring that because of BJP, politics has largely become about irrelevant issues, Thackeray said, “There is politics of divisiveness and politics of hate and irrelevant issues whenever there is an election. The local and state issues are ignored.”

“Everyone knows that Shiv Sena stands for protection of rights of the sons of the soil. In Goa, we will work to protect the Konkani language and the rights of Goenkars,” he further said.
