Adil Ray supported as he gives update on Good Morning Britain future

Good Morning Britain's Adil Ray has given an update on his future on the show.

The ITV presenter often joins co-host Susanna Reid as they discuss a number of issues hitting the headlines. Together, they grill politicians and interview guests.

But now, Adil has said that he won't be seen on the show for some time. Taking to Twitter, he announced that today, June 29, would be his last appearance on the show for a couple of months.

He made the post last night, as he said: "See you in the morning peeps, currently my last show until August. Hope you can join us. @GMB from 6 with the fabulous @susannareid100."

Fans were gutted by the news and flooded the comments with support. Patricia said: "Adil you have been brilliant."

Andy said: "Hope they get you booked soon, Adil. You're a class act and exactly what the country needs." Chris said: "Adil, will miss your early morning banter with the GMB team, you are 1,000% better than Richard Madeley."

It is unclear who will take Adil's place for the rest of this week as Richard Madeley has been missing as of late. Richard normally sits alongside Susanna from Monday to Wednesday's but has been replaced by Adil this week.

This has led to viewers speculating if the presenting shake-up could be down to a rift with Susanna. Feud rumours intensified earlier this year when Richard and Susanna failed to pose together at the BAFTA Television Awards.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV and the ITV Hub
