Steve Bruce has responded to talk that Newcastle United are trying to sign Ademola Lookman.
As reported by Chronicle Live this week, , but no official bid has been tabled.
RB Leipzig have insisted on an hefty arranged transfer fee at the end of any potential loan deal, but the player has been used sparingly this season and has not played in the Bundesliga since October.
Bruce said: "Listen I think I have been linked with 38 names already , which our media man Lee (Marshall) has run past me.
"He's another one, he is a good player.
"But it is a little bit far off at the moment."
Bruce was asked in general on transfers and stated it was a tough window - citing other clubs are also yet to make a major breakthrough yet.
Bruce added: "Yeah, like everybody else!
"I said from day one January would always be difficult and I haven't changed.
"We want people who will improve us and that is difficult.
