Adele was 'f***ing disappointed' by women making 'brutal comments' about her weight loss

Adele said she felt "f***ing disappointed" by the women who made "brutal comments" about her 100lb weight loss.

The When We Were Young singer, 33, revealed she was hurt by the constant comments on her change in appearance.

Adele covers the November issues of British and American Vogue, and told the latter publication: "My body's been objectified my entire career. It's not just now. I understand why it's a shock. I understand why some women especially were hurt

"Visually I represented a lot of women. But I'm still the same person. The most brutal conversations were being had by other women about my body."

She added: "I was very f***ing disappointed with that. That hurt my feelings."

The icon said her anxiety was the main reason she decided to start working out as she "would just feel better".

The singer's workouts consist of weight-lifting and circuit-training sessions every day (sometimes twice a day).

Adele didn't specify what comments in particular got to her, but her weight loss caused a stir on social media.

In May 2020, Adele shared photos of her to her Instagram page which shocked fans.

She became a trending topic as fans praised her transformation but some felt the need to mention how they missed 'old Adele'.

Some people started speculating the singer turned to extreme measures - including bariatric surgery - to shed the weight.

But her former personal trainer slammed the rumours as 'fat-phobic', insisting his client did it the hard way.

Taking to Instagram last year, PT Pete Geracimo wrote: "As Adele's former London-based personal trainer, it's disheartening to read negative commentary and fat-phobic accusations questioning the genuineness of her amazing weight loss.

"In my personal experience of working with her through many highs and lows, she always marched to the beat of her own drum on her own terms.

"She never undermined her God-given talent in any way. She let her incredible voice do the talking, or should I say singing!"

He added: "She never once pretended to be something that she wasn't. What you saw was what you got. And we all LOVED it!"
