Fears have been sparked that Adele may have lost her Las Vegas residency after a replacement was confirmed by Caesars Palace.

The British pop megastar had been scheduled to begin a 24-show residency at Caesars Palace last week. But after a string of gigs were postponed, country musician Keith Urban will now take up the spot from late March through to May, it was confirmed on Wednesday.

Urban, 54, had been due to start on May 30 but will now will fill in after the 33-year-old singer cancelled her ‘Weekends with Adele’ show just 24 hours before the beginning of the run.

Urban will now play additional dates on March 25, 26 and 30 and April 1 and 2.

According to the Daily Mirror, Adele will not play a single show in Las Vegas before the summer after Urban was booked.

Last week, Adele released a tearful video to her fans claiming the show had been disrupted by delays and Covid.

Tickets had cost some fans up to £9,000 but Adele said in the video: “Listen, I’m so sorry but my show isn’t ready.

"We’ve tried absolutely everything. We can’t put it together in time for it to be good enough for you but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid - half my crew, half my team are down with Covid and still are.

“We’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.

“We’ve been awake for over 30 hours now trying to figure it out and we’ve run out of time.

“I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed and I’m so sorry to everyone that’s travelled.”

There has been no official confirmation from Adele or Caesars Palace regarding her return.
