Adele shares her 'physical reaction' to death of Welsh dad Mark Evans

Adele has spoken about her emotional and physical reaction to the death of her Welsh father in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

The 33-year-old singer, who has a new album, 30, out next week, told the magazine : "It was like I let out one wail and something left."

Adele compared it to a scene in the film The Green Mile, saying: "I’ve felt so calm ever since then. It really did set little me free."

Mark Evans, who had bowel cancer for eight years and passed away from the illness last May, was the first person to hear the singer's new album, after she was persuaded by a friend to reconnect with her dad following her divorce. The pair had been estranged for many years following Evans' split from Adele's mother.

She added: "I don’t think I understood the true deepness of how I felt about my dad until we spoke.

"I think I’ve never been fully in any of my relationships,” she reflected, with Konecki as the closest exception. “I always had this fear from a really young age that you’re going to leave me anyway, so I’m going to leave or I’m not going to invest myself in anything."

Now in a relationship with sports agent Rich Paul, Adele revealed that she was in an "incredible, openhearted, and easiest” relationship she’s ever been in.
