Adele's Scottish fans hoping for concert date after London 2022 announcement

Adele's Scottish fans are hoping she will soon announce a date for a concert north of the border after shows confirmed for London in 2022.

The Someone Like You singer will take to the stage for her first live shows in five years -and made the announcement on her social media today.

Many fans reported the website "crashed" ahead of ticket sales.

Adele who just last week released her comeback song Easy On Me, which went straight to number one, plans to perform at London's Hyde Park in July.

She will play there on July 1 and 2, 2022, as part of next year's BST Hyde Park festival, alongside other billed artists including Sir Elton John, Duran Duran and Pearl Jam.

The festival is set to return after being forced to cancel in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Adele, whose long awaited album 30 is also expected to go to the top of the charts, wrote: "Oiii Oiiiiiiiiiiiii" on her socials to get fans to register for a pre-sale on her website, and demand was so great some fans got a "currently unavailable - please try again later" message.

As fans despaired over the situation, Scots followers of the star were keen to hear about potential dates in Scotland.

One fan wrote: "Adele + glasgow = pls."

Another added: "Please come on tour to Glasgow."

Another fan enthused: "I REALLY wanna go see @Adele at Hyde Park but it’s the traveling. I hope she comes to Glasgow at least once during this new 30 tour #Adele #Adele30."

Tickets for her Hyde Park gigs will be on general sale from 30 October, while the presale starts on 28 October at 10am.

Adele is also set to be interviewed by Oprah Winfrey as part of a two-hour special called One Night Only on US network CBS on 14 November.
