Adele's LA doctor shares secret behind dramatic weight loss - and it's not exercise

Adele 's Los Angeles doctor has shared the weight loss secrets she gives to all her clients - insisting the key to slimming down is not all about exercise.

The singer, 32, looks unrecognisable after shedding more than three stone and fans have been clamouring to find out how she did it.

She worked with personal trainers and an LA-based expert - Dr. Dominique Fradin-Read - who has been sharing her top tips for a total body makeover.

Dr Fradin-Read, says slimming down is not about "exercise alone" and must be part of a wider lifestyle transformation.

She insists mental health and wellness is just as important as diet and exercise.

The doctor told Us Weekly : "I start by telling my patients that when it comes to weight loss, diet and exercise alone will not be enough in most cases.

"That is why many patients that come to us have tried to lose weight, they did lose somewhat but put everything back on and often even more.

"For a successful and sustainable weight loss, we need to look at the whole person and not just address the weight upfront."

She went on to reveal forming new habits is crucial, while mood problems, sleep disorders and stress must be addressed before looking at diet and work outs.

Dr Fradin-Read added: "We look at habits - why is it that most of us will be good all day and crash at night?

"We evaluate stress and sleep. We talk about mood and mental health. When all these elements are addressed, then we can start a personalized diet... and recommend exercise as needed and it will work."

The Hello hitmaker's former trainer Pete Geracimo has also shared some of the secrets behind Adele's transformation - and revealed she swore like a trooper during her work outs.

He told People : "I got called every name under the sun by her. But to her credit, she always came ready and worked out hard."

Pete added: "She quit smoking, reduced her drinking, got rid of sugar and stopped eating processed foods. She made healthier food choices and is training regularly."
