Adele releases new song Easy On Me on all streaming platforms after six year wait

Adele has released her first music in more than six years with her new single, Easy On Me, available to stream on all platforms, debuting the video on her official YouTube channel.

The 33-year-old singer has been teasing fans in the past weeks with the release of her new song and they time has now arrived for the first single from her forthcoming album, 30, to be available.

The 15-time Grammy winner released Easy On Me at midnight, with her fourth studio album scheduled to be released on November 19.

Adele had already given fans a taste of Easy On Me during a recent Instagram Live session, with the singer playing around 20 seconds of the song, much to the delight of those listening.

Fans were pleased that the song was sounding very much in the tradition of Adele's songs, with her singing in the clip: "There ain't no gold in this river / That I've been washing my hands in forever / I know there is hope in these waters / But I can't bring myself to swim when I am drowning in this silence / Baby, let me in."

Adele was also asked during the illuminating Instagram Live session about what the subject matter of her forthcoming album would be.

She has a direct answer to this, saying: "Divorce babe, divorce."

Adele finalised her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki in January and it would seem that it has had an effect on her creative thoughts for the upcoming album.

The singer has confirmed that she will not be joined by any collaborators in her new songs, which is in keeping with her previous albums.

It has been reported that Adele will also being fronting a TV special soon after the release of her album in November.

According to Vulture, Adele and her camp have "approached multiple networks and platforms about the idea of staging a TV special tied to the new release."

If this is given a green light, it is expected to hit our screens before Christmas.
