Adele opens up about divorce and 7st weight loss but admits missing Terry's chocolate orange

Adele has opened up on her divorce and incredible seven stone weight loss as she admits missing Terry's chocolate orange in her first interview since 2016.

The Someone Like You singer whose new song Easy On Me will drop in a week on Friday October 15 talked for the first time about her brief marriage and split from husband Simon Konecki in April 2019.

She also revealed the real reason behind her weight loss and admitted that she loves salad cream and chocolate orange so much that her friends deliver it to her US home from London.

Adele who also shares custody of her son Angelo, 8, talked of her split from Simon who she actually married in 2018, not before as some people thought.

She said: "It just wasn’t right for me any more. I didn’t want to end up like a lot of other people I knew.

"I wasn’t miserable miserable, but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first. But, yeah, nothing bad happened or anything like that."

Adele told British Vogue magazine that she was embarrassed. "I was really embarrassed. That thing of not being able to make something work."

Adele shared a clip of new music Easy On Me (@Adele/Twitter)

“We’ve been trained as women to keep trying, even by the movies we watched when we were little. At the time it broke my heart, but I actually find it so interesting now. How we’re told to suck it up.”

Adele hope her new album explains the divorce to her son.

She said: "I feel like this album is self-destruction, then self-reflection and then sort of self-redemption. I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness."

Adele who also used the interview to confirm she is dating sports agent Rich Paul, also explained her dramatic weight loss in recent years saying: "It was because of my anxiety. Working out, I would just feel better. It was never about losing weight, it was always about becoming strong and giving myself as much time every day without my phone.

"I got quite addicted to it. I work out two or three times a day."

She said she never went on any special diets and that very afternoon was looking forward to meeting her friend from London for some supplies of her favourite things.

She said: "Salad Cream is my vibe."

And she admitted she was 'palpably thrilled to be seeing her friend India Standing later, who is bringing PG Tips, Percy Pigs and 20 Terry’s Chocolate Oranges from London'.
