The Someone Like You singer, 30, appeared to be engaging in a tense text exchange as she was snapped back in March – when she was believed to be living apart from her husband.
In resurfaced images, the mum-of-one kept her head firmly down and looked like she was fighting back tears as she stepped out in New York, sporting a long tartan jacket with padded sleeves.
She pulled her blonde locks into a casual bun, and wore minimal makeup as she was pictured alone amid her alleged relationship drama.

The Hello hit-maker's outing comes amid reports that she and husband Simon had been "living separate lives" in the run up to confirming their split on Friday.
"This is a very sad situation - Adele and Simon had been living separate lives for some time," a source told The Sun.
“It was well known amongst their friends that this time they simply were not going to sort it out.
“They had been trying for years but eventually you have to accept that something just isn’t going to work.”

In a short statement late on Friday night, the singer's representatives confirmed: "Adele and her partner have separated.
"They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy."
The pair share son Angelo, who they welcomed in 2012.
They first met in 2011, after singer Ed Sheeran reportedly introduced them.
