Adele issues stern warning to fans after string of on-stage assaults

Adele has always had a way with words and her condemnation of the latest on-stage assaults left viewers in no doubt of her thoughts.

At her show on Saturday, the Rolling In The Deep singer, 35, acknowledged the recent trend of targeting singers during their live performances.

"Have you noticed how people are forgetting f***ing show etiquette at the moment and just throwing sh** on stage?" She asked her audience in a circulating Instagram reel. "I f***ing dare you. I dare you to throw something at me. I'll f***ing kill you."

The songstress was referring to various incidents popping up in the last month. Singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha was performing in New York City when a fan purposely threw his phone at her and hit her in the eye. She ran off stage, needed stitches and never finished the show.

The man who threw the phone was later charged with assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and harassment. He claimed he thought hitting her with his phone would be "funny."

While Bebe went back on tour after the incident, she wore blue goggles on stage and joked "no phones on my face tonight please, I beg of you," at her show in Philadelphia.

A few days after Bebe's incident, Sweet But Psycho singer Ava Max was slapped by a concert-goer who managed to get on stage before security could stop them. Ava also suffered an eye injury saying "the inside of her eye is scratched."

Kelsea Ballerini was performing in Idaho last week when someone threw a bracelet, hitting her in the face.

While she quickly recovered after taking a break to make sure she was okay, she addressed the crowd saying: "Can we just talk about what happened? All I care about is keeping everyone safe," she said, "don't throw things."

While not so violent and more so weird, fans have been giving Pink things while she's on stage, from a bag of their mother's ashes to a wheel of brie cheese.

The Grammy winner ended her speech with a t-shirt cannon in hand, launching a shirt into the crowd. "Stop throwing things at the artist but you can shoot things at the audience," she said with a laugh.

Adele has been performing her Weekends With Adele concert residency in Las Vegas since November 2022.

The residency was supposed to start in January of that year but after various COVID diagnoses in her camp, Adele pushed back the shows much to her fans' dismay. The shows are set to continue into September of this year.
