Adele gets Spotify to make huge change and remove shuffle button from albums

Adele has managed to persuade Spotify to change the standard approach to playing an album.

The 33-year-old Easy On Me crooner has managed to convince the streaming giant to remove the shuffle button as the default option on albums, which means that they will now play in the artist's intended order.

This comes after Adele 's highly anticipated fourth studio album, 30, launched on Friday.

30 has been met with critical acclaim, with fans looking forward to seeing her televised concert today on ITV.

Filmed at the London Palladium, An Audience With Adele will air at 7.25pm today on ITV, running up until 9pm.

Adele reposted the Spotify announcement to Twitter, writing: “This was the only request I had in our ever changing industry!

“We don’t create albums with so much care and thought into our track listing for no reason.

“Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended. Thank you Spotify for listening.”

Spotify quickly replied: “Anything for you [prayer hands emoji][sparkle emoji].”

The artist recently made her comeback with her first new track in six years, Easy On Me.

It skyrocketed to number one in the UK singles charts where it remains at time of writing, according to the Official Charts Company.

Other tracks from the album, including My Little Love, Oh My God, I Drink Wine and Hold On have been praised by fans and critics for their old-fashioned sound and vulnerability.

30 details the breakdown of her marriage to charity boss Simon Konecki, with whom she shares son, Angelo.

Adele celebrated her album launch by posting an image to her social media on Friday which showed her next to a glass of white wine.

The post was captioned: “It was a ride, so I threw my arms up and screamed! Love you all.”
