Adele cries on stage in Las Vegas after England got knocked out of the World Cup

Rumour Has It, Adele blubbed on stage in Las Vegas after England got knocked out of the World Cup.

Well, she claimed she did - though she had been overwhelmed with emotion after helping a fan celebrate a “divorce party”.

Adele, whose album 30 is penned about her 2020 split from ex-husband Simon Konecki, helped a group of 14 women who had come to her gig to celebrate one of their divorces, and told them: “I know all about broken hearts.”

She then said through tears: “I got a bit emotional earlier, now I’m really crying. I have tears running down my cheeks.

“You bringing all your friends is so moving to me. Relationships falling apart, whether you’re married or not, it’s really difficult - it’s really traumatic.

“Keep your friends close to you - they are better than any man, they are better than any woman.”

Laughing she’d had a little “whine sitch” on stage, the singer - mum to Angelo with ex-Simon - explained: “My son’s travelling today so maybe it’s that - and England lost.”

Adele walked through the crowd with her Minnie Mouse ears on singing “When We Were Young”.

The night before, during the first of her most recent pair of Weekends With Adele shows, she had been upbeat after watching the World Cup, telling a South American fan: “Thank God Argentina won on penalties. I love you Messi, I love you!”

Funnily enough, she didn’t heap as much praise on Giroud.
