Adele confesses to starting fights with ex Simon Konecki post-divorce

Adele has lifted the lid on life after splitting with Simon Konecki.

The BRIT school alumni is doing the rounds after her first song in six years was released today.

And as the Tottenham native, 33, spoke candidly to Greg James on Friday's Radio One she told about starting fiery rows with the father of her son.

Adele was frank about being confrontational with charity CEO Simon - who she shares eight-year-old don Angelo with - after radio DJ Greg quizzed her on the inspiration for her new hit named Easy On Me.

The award-winning star shared: "It was first song I wrote for the album, going back beginning of 2019 really."

Sharing on her inspiration for her songwriting, she added: "I was making decisions in my life, which have been well documented in the last few years.

"It was sort of that thing of initiating a discussion - not in the case of my son's dad - or a massive bloody fight, which I definitely started some fights post my relationship."

Telling how she was guilty of starting arguments with Simon - but not detailing on what, Adele added: "I did start some fights with my son's dad post-split with other people."

Laughing at the situation she then said: "Haha!"

Adele continued: " Normally I am not confrontational but you can initiate something then be like ‘hang on a minute go easy on me bare with me as I try to find my feet.'"

The first track from Adele's new album is filled with hints at how she orchestrated the split from Simon - who she shares son Angelo with - and the reasons why she had to end her union with the charity CEO.

Adele also makes it clear how she did not want Simon to have any animosity towards her for making the decision to split in 2019 as she asks him to "go easy on me" in her lyrics for the new track.

The Tottenham native also blames being young and that she did not "get the chance" to "feel the world around me" in the deep song as a key reason to them calling it a day.

Mother of one Adele also goes on to add how she "changed" in order to put her eight-year-old son and Simon first.

She sings how it cannot be denied "how hard" she worked to try and salvage her marriage before adding "now I give up."

In the song, she goes: "Go easy on me, baby, I was still a child,

"Didn't get the chance to feel the world around me,

"I had no time to choose what I chose to do, so go easy on me."

The ballad then hears the talented singer-songwriter belt: "There ain't no room for our things to change

"When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways, you can't deny how hard I've tried

"I changed who I was to put you both first, but now I give up."

Many had believed Adele to be married since 2016, but she recently revealed they didn't wed until 2018.

She publicly filed for divorce in 2019.

Adele's upcoming album called 30 is set for release on November 19.
